You know that well-spoken phrase, "I'd like to take this opportunity to..." well, that is exactly what I'm talking about. An opportunity taken. The opportunity does not necessarily have to be given for it to be taken. And for goodness sake when you need to take an opportunity, grab it by the bull horns and get the job done, and with as much gentility as possible.
