Sojourner's Cerebrations

just another sojourner... these feet are not my own, these hands are merely just on loan, they were made to be used and make love known, a fruit of a seed once long ago sown... and though the sojourner carries on as the wind is blown, she knows that she's never ever ever alone.

Cinderella Man.
ignorance isn't a luxury.

For soooo long I refused to see this movie.
I'm not exactly sure why. I think I heard it on the grapevine that it was an awful movie. AWFUL??? Absolutely not! Kristy forced me to watch it with she and Jason on Friday night. She would not allow me the luxury of my ignorance, which I am always thankful for. Of course, with my preconceived notions -I went kicking and a screaming. (actually I was too tired to stay awake for even an hour.)
But I was faithful to the venture, and the very next day Tara and I sat down with some dinner in front of the tube -she with a wrap and me with some nuked left-over jambalaya. After I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out all the blasted remote control buttons, we got the thing on dvd mode, to the right scene and then fired up the action.
1. Let's just get this out of the way first, Russel Crow is one of the hottest men on earth! clean shaven and all! (not that I mind a little scruff, but the man was workin' the baby face.) You go Rus! 2. Secondly, and probably more importantly, his acting was amazing. (The accent reminded me of Mel Gibson for some reason, an actor I've been fond of since I was kid -watching Lethal Weapon on TV with the fam. I love Mel, but I can't say I approve of his antisemetic activities, poor guy needs to stay sober.) moving on. 3. Numero tres, Renee Zelwieger was soooo cute! The little girl definitely could have passed for her daughter -her eyes were gorgeous! and it seemed they reflected something of Renee's, I saw it in the scene when the kids were listening to the fight on the radio, the whole fam crowding around. They weren't going to be ignorant.

I can't believe this was based on a true story. It's just boxing but it's amazing just what can unite a group of people. Was the church actually filled, packed with pious or non-pious believers, praying for their symbol of hope -this man who climbed back to the top of ring? A man who fought the good fight? A man with diligence, intensity, and seemingly human qualities but a will of iron and a heart of gold?
People are inspired in a miriad of ways. It's about passion. Passion. Passion turns thought into action. Passion turns sitting into standing and then standing to walking and then walking into running and then maybe an all-out sprint! If you look at the word too long it doesn't look right anymore. If you just sit and stare at it, it dies. It turns into mere letters, words, voices.

You have to catch the passion when it's thrown into your arms and pass it on! pass-'i-on! and don't let others recline in the luxury of their ignorance, they'll regret that someday.
